Langdon LDA Unit

EX2 Group successfully delivered the full electrical and mechanical fit-out for a new £20 million Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) unit at the Devon Partnership Trust’s Langdon site in Dawlish.

This ten-bed facility has been purpose-built to provide high-quality care in a safe, modern, and therapeutic environment, designed to support the recovery and wellbeing of patients with complex needs.

The unit includes both medium and low secure accommodation, and marks a significant step forward in specialist mental health provision in the region. Facilities of this kind are in limited supply, requiring advanced, sector-specific systems to meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and patient care.

Our Electrical and M&E teams delivered a full suite of systems typically required in a healthcare setting, along with additional infrastructure needed for the secure nature of the unit.

 This included:

• Nurse call systems
• IT, comms and structured cabling
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
• Ventilation and mechanical services
• CCTV and security monitoring
• Access control, locking systems and personal safety alarms
• Secure storage and entry management systems

Our in-house teams worked closely with healthcare stakeholders to ensure every aspect of the installation aligned with clinical requirements and compliance standards.

We support the delivery of specialist healthcare spaces that are safe, functional, and compliant. Our engineers are fully accredited and stay up to date with the latest healthcare regulations. All site engineers and managers involved undergo enhanced DBS checks, ensuring a professional, secure, and respectful presence on sensitive healthcare sites.
