EX2 Group continues its commitment to developing the next generation of electricians
EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentice electricians from Exeter College as they begin their careers in the electrical industry with the South West electrical and M&E company.
Following a highly competitive recruitment process that attracted more than 100 applications, Harry, Jassem and Owen have been selected to join the business and will combine practical on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their professional qualifications.
Harry joins the apprenticeship programme having successfully completed his Level 2 studies, while Jassem joins having achieved his Level 3 qualification. Owen has spent the past year gaining experience with EX2 Group’s Eco-Tech team, supporting renewable energy projects and developing valuable practical knowledge before formally starting his apprenticeship journey.
The new recruits follow in the footsteps of last year’s apprentice intake, with Christian, Alfie and Harvey all continuing to develop their skills and experience within the business. Working alongside experienced engineers across a range of projects, they are gaining valuable hands-on experience that supports their professional development and future careers in the industry.
James Freemantle, Director at EX2 Group, said:
“We were delighted to receive more than 100 applications for our apprenticeship vacancies this year, which demonstrates the level of interest in careers within the electrical and engineering sector. The quality of applications was exceptionally high, making the selection process incredibly challenging.
“At EX2 Group, apprenticeships are a vital part of our long-term strategy. We are committed to investing in local talent and creating opportunities for young people to build rewarding careers in our industry. The electrical and engineering sectors continue to face skills shortages, so it’s important that businesses play an active role in developing the next generation of skilled professionals.
“We’ve seen the benefits of this approach through apprentices such as Christian, Alfie and Harvey, who have all made excellent progress since joining us last year. Bringing through new talent and providing real opportunities to learn, develop and succeed is something we are passionate about, and we’re delighted to welcome Harry, Jassem and Owen to the team.”
EX2 Group has a long-standing commitment to supporting apprenticeships and developing local talent. Through a combination of college-based learning and practical project experience, apprentices gain the skills, confidence and qualifications needed to build successful careers within the electrical industry.
The company looks forward to supporting Harry, Jassem and Owen as they begin the next stage of their development and contribute to projects across the South West.
