Exeter Science Park Centre solar installation
Eco-Tech
Project Overview
Installation of a 32.3kWp Photovoltaic generation system on the flat roof of the Exeter Science Park Centre, a flagship STEMM business park and conference venue for the south west.
This project from our Eco-Tech team required a ballasted mounting system for the 76 solar PV panels that considered the specific 'Sarna' roof requirements. All design calculations, including electrical, PV output, and mounting system calculations, were performed in-house. They were approved by an independent structural engineer.
The system was designed to optimise solar yield while preserving roof integrity, aligning with the site’s long-term sustainability goals. Remote monitoring was integrated for real-time performance tracking, supporting proactive energy management.
This installation will significantly reduce annual electricity costs and carbon footprint, demonstrating a cost-effective solution for commercial and educational facilities looking to meet energy efficiency targets.
