Project Overview

Eco-Tech successfully delivered the design and installation of a 34.02kWp photovoltaic (PV) generation system for Exeter College's new Retrofit Academy at their Construction Training Centre.

The system consists of 84 high-efficiency solar panels, mounted securely on a hanger bolt and rail system designed specifically for the building’s single-skinned sheet roof. All works were carried out with full structural engineer approval, ensuring the long-term integrity of the roof and safety of the installation.

Our in-house design team produced detailed PV layout drawings and generation forecasts, helping the client visualise the energy and carbon savings from the outset. The system is expected to generate significant on-site electricity, reducing reliance on the grid and lowering the building's operational carbon footprint.

This project reflects the Eco-Tech team's broader approach to delivering low-carbon energy solutions that are technically robust, cost-effective, and tailored to the unique structural requirements of each site.

The installation will contribute to long-term energy savings and support the Exeter College's mission to operate as a leading skills hub for construction and retrofit of energy saving measures.
