Project Overview

Working with a listed building brought a unique set of challenges that has enabled us to expand our knowledge base and skillset. With St Michael’s Church, it was vital to ensure that the building was sympathetically modernised without losing the original structure’s character. The addition of a new mezzanine floor created a much-needed community space.

Throughout the four-month project, we wanted to ensure the existing, occupied parts of the building were not disrupted by the works. As such, the EX2 team carefully adapted the existing MICC cabling whilst, at the same time, installing new services to the modernised parts of the building.

The project resulted in a light and welcoming area for the local community, set against the church’s impressive backdrop.
